NI 24 / ABY 34 — New Galactic Empire = good guys, New Republic = bad guys — gritty lethal standalone
Who the galaxy talks about on the HoloNet. What your character would know from news, rumors, and dock gossip — not GM secrets.
Palpatine's daughter who said no. Found as child aboard the Eclipse SSD after Endor, raised by Moffs, claimed throne within five years.
Force-sensitive, refuses Jedi/Sith titles. First acts NI 0: created Imperial Senate, outlawed Jedi/Sith religious conditioning (Death + forfeiture for running schools/temples/training), same penalty for Official Corruption.
Doctrine: "Power corrupts. Force power corrupts absolutely. Therefore it must be bound by duty, law, and accountability — not by religion."
Publicly moved capital off Coruscant NI 10: "You want the well, drink it. Keep the chair. We will build a new table." Built Galactic Star (240km mobile capital).
In NGE space: "She's the only ruler who actually enforces anti-corruption. She gave up Coruscant." Seen as reformer who owns the Empire's sins.
In NR space: "Palpatine's daughter, of course she's evil. Galactic Star = Third Death Star."
What spacers know: Very public, very visible, travels with white-hull escorts. Never takes Darth name. Travels with Grey Knights and Inquisitors.
Commander of the Imperial Knights (Grey Knights) — 100-200 elite Force users who protect the Empress and enforce the neutral path. Wields white saber. Sworn to doctrine: feel everything, allow love/family, but kill corruption instantly. Stern, respected, rarely gives interviews.
Field commander of Knights. Wields unusual white pike. Known for having killed a fallen brother himself — still lights a candle nightly. Understands cost. Mentor to younger Knights. Great duelist, will interpose for his people without hesitation.
Hero of the Rebellion, founder of the New Republic. Resigned from NR Senate NI 4, crowned Queen of New Alderaan (elected monarchy). NI 5 Treaty of New Alderaan — joined New Galactic Empire as autonomous principality.
Leia's Price: Registered Jedi law — Jedi can exist legally in Empire, no students, audits not executions. Many Jedi followed her. Sanctuary, white frigates, ~12M pop, white stone city on lake.
Hated by NR as "traitor" — NR HoloNet claims brainwashed/mind-tricked. Respected in NGE as moral compass — said to be the only person who can tell Empress she's wrong and live.
Faction: NR • Location: Unsettled Territories (exact planet withheld — mobile)
After leaving New Republic politics, Luke established a network of hidden schools across planets in the Unsettled Territories to keep Jedi practices alive in a hostile universe.
Not a single Praxeum — a decentralized network: small praxeums, waystations, and traveling teachers. Moves students between sites to avoid detection by New Republic hardliners, Imperial hardliners, and Sith hunters. Teaches classic Jedi ways, but adapted for survival.
Strained with Leia — two Jedi futures: Luke's distributed schools (preserve the Order) vs Leia's Registered Jedi sanctuary (individuals, no students, audited). He understands her compromise, disagrees with no-training rule.
NR senators have tried to use his name as weapon against NGE. Some students have gone missing — rumors of Wox agents hunting the network.
Prominent New Republic senator from the Core. Publicly champions "Republic values" and condemns NGE as "Palpatine 2.0." Known for aggressive trade policy against NGE worlds.
What dock gossip says: Owns more than her salary shows. Connected to shipping conglomerates, refugee charities that never seem to reach refugees, and security consultants with no records. Hates NGE for cutting into "business."
Useful contact if you need NR charters, or dangerous enemy if you carry NGE papers.
Self-appointed Sith leader reported operating from Unknown Regions / Wild Space. Imperial and NR intel both list as extremist threat. Claims to follow Palpatine's legacy.
HoloNet tags: human-supremacist rhetoric, collection of Sith artifacts, attacks on remote temples and archives. NR and NGE both deny negotiating with him.
What your character knows: Name only from warnings: "Avoid — Sith raiders." Anything more requires a Contact roll or classified brief — not a public wiki.
A4 Industries: Automated manufacturing, mining, terraforming support, and HoloNet infrastructure. Flagship Unforeseen Consequence (1830m, automated) operates a few days off Galactic Star. Re-registered ~ABY 4 after decades of silence, now major NGE contractor.
Kyle Teldaris (Kyle Tel'daris III): Human CEO, public face. Handles Senate relations. Rumored clone of founder — same name as founding CEO from ~80 BBY, explains longevity. Denies it. Very reasonable, very helpful, unsettlingly well-informed.
Public note: History before ABY 4 is corporate legend — shipping schemes, medical arbitrage, etc. Full records sealed.
