Galactic Star — Why She Gave Up Coruscant

240km diameter moon-sized mobile capital. Third Death Star iteration, not weaponized — public claim. Built to prove Empire could build without destroying.

"You want the well, drink it. Keep the chair. We will build a new table." — Empress to New Republic Senate, ceding Coruscant, NI 10 / ABY 20

The Coruscant Problem

NI 0-5: NGE tried to hold Coruscant for legitimacy. Reality:

Empress realized: to stay is to be poisoned. Can't share capital with swamp that profits from your failure.

The Trade — NI 10 Eclipse Treaty Amendment

Coruscant — including historic Galactic Senate rotunda (Senate Chamber Palpatine spoke in)New Republic recognizes Galactic Star as legitimate Imperial capital
Full HoloNet open to pre-war open usageGuaranteed trade / travel rights, systems can self-determine (leave either side)
Release Republic political prisoners / "rebels"NR must take responsibility for rebel/terror cells, return Imperial capital ships/fighters, stop terrorism

NR wanted Senate Chamber for optics — "we speak where Palpatine fell, legitimate successor." NGE wanted out.

Galactic Star — Public Record

What The HoloNet Says

Diameter: 240km (moon, not planet). Class: Mobile Capital / Commerce Hub / Terraforming Platform / Fleet Anchorage.

Not weaponized — NGE public position. No superlaser, no planet-killer. NR HoloNet calls it "Third Death Star" anyway. NGE counters: "They call everything a Death Star because they can't build anything."

Shields: Advertised as planetary-grade. Protected Great White Fleet during Operation White Spear (NI 20-22) — took fire that would have killed a fleet. Exact specs classified.

Propulsion: Hyper-capable, mobile. Exact class redacted. Publishes timetables via HoloNet for transparency — variable orbit, no favored system.

What It Does Instead of Destroying

Terraforming: First demonstration NI 12: New Legacy — dead rock → mountain-lake world, now 11M citizens, voluntarily joined. Public symbol that Empire can build life, not just take it.

Mobile Capital: Never shows favoritism to any member world. Senators, Moffs, courts, and Imperial Bank all orbit together. White halls, gold trim.

Commerce: Hub for Imperial Bank, Commodities/Equities/FX, Galactic Market (any legal item). Member Banks franchise, Central Bank provides capital.

Construction: Fleet yards, shuttle bays, HoloNet deployment. Details classified. Spacers say you can get anything there if you have Imperial writ — and wait in line.

Public records only. Internal systems, contractors, shield contractors, propulsion contractors, and any armament are classified. If your character wants to know more, they'll need to dock, talk, bribe, or steal — not read a wiki.

Canon note: NGE = protagonist faction, NR = antagonist faction. Intentional inversion. All power corrupts. STORY INDEXRULESSHEET
